[태국 대홍수] 수해피해자 수천명 '필사의 탈출'

[방콕=신화통신/] 25일(현지시각) 태국 정부의 수해구조대책위원회로부터 내려진 대피 명령에 의해 태국국영철도청은 수천명이 넘는 수해피해자들을 대피시킬 준비가 되어있다고 말했다.

정부에서 10월 초순부터 수해구조대책위원회와 임시 대피처를 설립한 이래 돈무앙 공항에 피신처를 마련했던 1,200여 대피자들은 방콕에서 약 80km떨어진 해변의 촌부리 성(省)으로 이송될 것이다.

500여 대피자들은 펫치부리와 프라추아브 키리산으로 400명은 사라부리로 700명은 중부지역의 로프 부리 성으로 이송될 것이다. 이 대피 계획은 이날 오후 홍수가 공항에 스며들고, 활주로까지 잠기려고 할 때부터 개시됐다.

지난 7월 하순 태국 전국을 강타한 심한 침수사태 이후 홍수에 잠긴 성들에서부터 4,000명 이상이 돈무앙 공항에 와 있었다.

태국 전국에 모두 합쳐서 940만명이 홍수와 산사태를 겪었고, 약 370명이 사망했다. 대홍수는 수도 방콕을 홍수에 휩쓸리게 할 가능성과 함께 아직도 중부 및 북동부 지역 26개성을 뒤덮고 있다.

잉룩 신와트라 수상은 수도 방콕 시민들에게도 만약 있을지도 모를 범람사태에 대비하라고 경고했다.

BANGKOK, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Following the evacuation 　　　order made by the government's Flood Relief Operations Center (FROC) on Wednesday, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is ready to evacuate over a thousand flood victims.

Some 1,200 evacuees taking shelter at Don Mueang Airport 　　　where the government has set up FROC and temporary shelter since early October would be shifted to coastal Chon Buri province, about 80 kilometers away 　　　from Bangkok.

Some 500 evacuees would be shifted to Petchburi and Prachuab Kirikhan, 400 to Saraburi and 700 others to Lop Buri provinces in central region.

The evacuation plan was kicked off Tuesday afternoon after floodwater seeped into the airport and began to flood its runways.

There have been more than 4,000 people 　　　from flood-stricken provinces staying at the shelter in Don Mueang Airport since heavy inundation battered the country late July. In all, some 9.4 million people nationwide have suffered 　　　from floods and landslides and about 370 were killed.
